ABOUT COMTI

Introduction
In 2008 COMTI was born out of a local and regional need for professionally trained seafarers who would meet international standards and industry best practices. COMTI is accredited by the Maritime Services Division of the Ministry of Transport of Trinidad and Tobago and by the Maritime Authority of Jamaica (MAJ) :
Captain George Alexis, Founder and Director of COMTI, is a maritime professional with over thirty (30) years’ experience in the Maritime Sector. His experience includes command positions on vessels trading in the wider Caribbean and senior technical positions ashore. He holds a Ship Masters Certificate and a Master of Science in Ports & Shipping Administration from the World Maritime University in Malmo Sweden. He is also an ISO/ISM Lead Auditor; Maritime Academy Maine USA, ISPS Ship Security Officer, SEASECURE, USA and also completed several industry related courses.

COMTI possess a cadre of highly qualified and experienced staff (i.e. fire fighting offficers, retired coast guard officers and mariners) who are a part of the training team that delivers industry related programs to clients throughout Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean.

To be the premier provider of maritime Training Courses for vessels of less than 500 tons engaged in coastal and near coastal trade.
